DEBUNKING THE HISTORICAL “DARK SIDE” OF BUY AMERICAN

A Washington Post forum rewrites history to suit the leftist ideological agenda while ignoring the painful failures of NAFTA and globalism and the economic promise of Americanism.

Dana Frank is Professor of History at the University of California, Santa Cruz and the author of “Buy American: The Untold Story of Economic Nationalism“.

In the forum piece, Frank notes, “U.S.-based corporations have spent decades using free trade politics to grease the wheels of their flight overseas, in search of the best investment climate — which for them usually means the lowest wages and the weakest environmental regulations they can find.

Trump, in his speech, attacked “other countries” that are “stealing our jobs,” but American companies are the ones that have chosen for decades to abandon communities that built their wealth, and flee abroad”.

Really?   You mean it wasn’t unfair trade deals like NAFTA, GATT (The World Trade Organization), high taxation and over regulations that led American companies to shutter factories and turn those communities into ghost towns in a mass exodus overseas?   

Gee, I am going to have to thank a liberal, for clearing that up for me.

(Alternative) History professor Frank criticizes Trump for his pick of Hardde’s CEO Andrew Puzder as Labor Secretary. 

She cites an example of why Puzder is unqualified for the position by posting a link to an article covering an incident where a California woman was burned due to unsafe conditions at a Hardde’s Restaurant, (one of more than 300 across the country.)

In July 2013, a manager at a Carl’s Jr. restaurant in California told an employee to mop the floors using extremely hot water. The worker had to fill her bucket out of a special dispenser that was elevated on a counter and expelled water with a temperature between 180 and 212 degrees Fahrenheit.

As the worker wrestled with the water bucket on her third day of mop duty, it dropped to the floor, splashing her with scalding water.   The worker ended up having to be hospitalized for her burns. The parent company of the Carl’s Jr. brand, CKE Restaurant Holdings, was cited for three safety violations as a result, including one investigators considered “serious,” according to Labor Department records. This June, three years after the incident, the company agreed to pay $23,420 in fines ― an unusually high penalty following a workplace safety inspection.   

( LIBERAL REACTION:  OMG!   Unusually high penalty!    Ha!   See!    That big old, mean old CEO at Hardee’s can’t be labor secretary!   First off, he’s not a liberal!  Second: Look how irresponsible he is! )

I guess Puzder should’ve known better than to hire such a terrible manager.  I suppose in liberal’s minds, this store manager’s poor decision disqualifies him to be labor secretary even though he had nothing to do with the incident.  Fault lies with the manager at the location in question.  

But to liberals, Puzder is a reckless, uncaring, negligent CEO.  A fiend, who is unqualified for the job. . . basically because he is not a liberal, so he is the enemy. 

Funny how those who speak tolerance, inclusion and diversity have so many enemies, isn’t it?

Dana Frank also plays the typical race card divide and conquer game, pushing a hard left platform, checking off the boxes as the article moves along, ignoring “inconvenient truths”that conflict with her purely subjective narrative. 

While Frank criticizes Trump’s Buy American and hire American slogan, she ignores the many similarities of the New Deal and Trump’s own Infrastructure plan.    

I would give Dana Frank’s forum piece if she included the facts I have rendered here, not purely ideological propaganda.  

Face it.   Thanks the the controlled mainstream media, pop culture, Hollywood and Madison Avenue, everyone knows the liberal perspective.  We have no choice.  We are bombarded by it 24/7, like it or not.

Due to massive ideological subversion of Americanism and the origins and intentions of Our Nation by Marxism and socialism, we live in a heavily media biased society that does not reflect the values of the majority of Americans, but rather what these subversives and liberals wish to portray as what the majority of Americans are like.

It is a delusion view, not in step with reality.   The results of the 2016 Election proved it.   Despite all the chicanery, the  spin doctors and the mass media manipulators attacking Trump and deflecting blame on Hillary’s loss to the Russians and racist rednecks, Americanism won and globalism and socialism lost.      Thank God.  

America First!!!   Amen to that.
