Hundreds of protesters gathered outside a medical center in New York as a vaccine mandate went into effect that would put unvaccinated healthcare workers out of a job.
On Monday, several hundred activists held signs and lined the streets of Rochester near the Strong Memorial Hospital to protest the mandate which will reportedly affect 300 employees.

Protesters carried signs reading, “Coercion is not consent,”, “Leaders are lying! Media are parrots!” “No liability? No mandates,” and “Ivermectin now!”

“Firing nurses over a shot during a nursing shortage,” another sign held by a nurse stated, while another sign read, “Risk must be a choice.”

According to a News 8 WROC reporter, most of the clinic’s staff have lined up to get their vaccines, except for around 2.5 percent of them.
As of today, Strong Memorial Hospital has 97.5% of clinical employees eligible to continue working with the vaccine mandate.

“Under the state’s mandate, health workers who aren’t vaccinated will be fired and won’t collect unemployment benefits, unless they have a medical excuse for not getting the shot,” reports WHAM.
On Monday, the final deadline for vaccination, the hospital held vaccine clinics for any employees who wanted a last-minute vaccine in order to comply with the mandate.
In a bizarre announcement Monday, newly installed New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) declared a state of emergency and said she would dispatch National Guard troops to replace fired healthcare workers.
