Alleged Assassin Of Minnesota Politicians Says He Was Hired By Democrat Governor & Ex-VP Candidate Tim Walz To Kill Dem Senator Amy Klobuchar So He Could Run For Her Seat
Bizarre twist adds to already strange murder case.
Vance Boelter, the individual accused of shooting a pair of Minnesota Democrat politicians and their spouses earlier this month, reportedly wrote a letter to the FBI saying he was hired directly by the state’s Governor Tim Walz to also kill Democrat Senator Amy Klobuchar so Walz could run for her empty Senate seat.
The Minnesota Star Tribunereported this week that people familiar with the letter revealed Boelter claims to have been secretly trained by the U.S. military “off the books,” and that Walz asked him to kill Minnesota Democrat Senator Tina Smith and others in addition to Klobuchar.
Fox News’ Jesse Watters briefly covered the update during his Friday night broadcast:
The suspected killer was appointed by Walz in 2019 to the Minnesota Governor’s Workforce Development Board where he made recommendations on workforce policies and programs.
Oddly failing to deny the accusation that he instructed Boelter to kill Klobuchar, a Tim Walz spokesman said, “This tragedy continues to be deeply disturbing for all Minnesotans. Governor Walz is grateful to law enforcement who apprehended the shooter, and he’s grateful to the prosecutors who will ensure justice is swiftly served.”
Klobuchar responded to the allegation that she was targeted, saying, “Boelter is a very dangerous man and I am deeply grateful that law enforcement got him behind bars before he killed other people.”
Boelter is being accused of killing former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark before shooting and injuring State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette at their home.
The letter reportedly also contained Boelter’s confession that he carried out the shootings that resulted in the deaths of the Hortmans and injuring the Hoffmans.
The alleged murderer’s cell phone data shows he traveled to “Africa, Nepal, Turkey, India, and Dubai,” in addition to “Washington D.C., and the Chicago Yacht Club” over the past three years, according to the Oversight Project.
The website of Boelter’s company Praetorian Guard Security Services, where he is listed as a “director of security patrols,” claims he was trained “by both private security firms and by people in the U.S. Military,” but this has yet to be confirmed.
Social media accounts belonging to the shooting suspect also claim he had military training, with an online resume saying he was a security contractor with experience in the Middle East and Africa.
